35mm, kodak film 800
a couple friends of mine out in lincoln introducted me to johanna b. bohrer. johanna was interested in becoming a model and was seeking inspiration to get her feet out the door. i felt very honored that she was open to my style of film photography as her first fashion photoshoot. when the day came to shoot, she performed her part as a model so captivating. she delivered a delightful blend of beauty, style and simplicity emanating in her photos. i am thrilled to work on more project with johanna.

few times in my life ive come cross hard working single mothers that are so enriching. something about their spirit empowers me. it could also be the fact that, a single woman could be so unselfish with her life to give everything she has to reach her child or children the best way possible. i was given a chance to photograph a mother and daughter family session (a dear friend of my mine) and it was yet uplifting to see such a down to earth and laid back relationship captured on film. i am inspired by their genuineness.

35mm, expired fuji film 100
i am overdue for an update on this blog. my morning hours are busy with a part time job and my evening hours are home with jack and the kids, which means, im barely online as much. this sunday is my day off, we took the kids to get their halloween costumes. we got them these adorable matching pirate costumes. then an idea popped into my head, jack and i should dress as pirates too. later this afternoon, we went to pick out more pumpkins. the bellevue berry farm was better the second time around. the weather was unpredictable when we went the first time. so i guess there are somethings taylor will have to get used to, is walking in shoes. she accidentally fall into a mud puddle. jackson thought it was funny and decided to jump up and down in a bigger mud puddle. so we ended our trip all covered in mud.

check out my sister's amazing zodiac portrait project here. i am honored to be apart of such an incredible project which she worked so hard on. after months and months of waiting on the final draft and seeing finishing touches, its as if im flipping through a zodiac book. she selectively chose each zodiac sign to captured their personality and characteristics on film.

nothing is as pleasant as an autumn day...

i still wonder "was the month of september even here?" time surely has gone by. as i was dressing taylor in her pajamas, i noticed that her hair is getting much longer and her curls are starting to go straight on top. once she was asleep, i couldn’t help but remember how she use to take up the smallest fraction of my bed, but now she dominates half of the queen bed. it seem like it was yesterday when we brought her home from the hospital and she would fall asleep on my chest while singing lullabies off tune. i love every single one of her milestones.

no one can really stop time from going too fast, what we can do is make our every day life less stressful by reducing all drama as best as we can and we can capture the memories we create. jack and i have agreed that stepping away from the internet world is a change we really need. we wont deny it that we spend half our time surfing the webs or in my case, caught in the facebook world. i wont say that we will disappear from the socializing world on the internet, but instead we will being adjusting to a healthier routine. until then, take care.
